transmig 450i readout/ voltage on mig

nice forum massive and covers alot of topics.

anyway I have got a murex 450i with 4x4 wire feed. the readout on the 450i is not working the turn nobs work fine. I actually bought 2 and the pair of them dont work so it must be a fault? any quick fixes it would be good to have it working

also what voltage should I use for mig work? any welder I had in the past I was just working with amps.

what difference does the volts make?

cheers bit of a noob at the tech side but I have it working to a degree were I can complete the job i am doing.

check is small fus on frount pannel is good, ifnot change it display should come up them, if fuse promtly blows when trigger pulled on torch your likely looking at a new board or haveing yours repaired.

sound I will have a look if it is not the fuse then it can stay that way it welds pretty good.

You'll have been using volts in the past you just didn't realise, the dial on the wire feeder controls your wire feed speed and amps and the other dials/knobs/switches control your volts

yeah after abit of playing about got it to weld nicely by dropping the amps and upping the volts abit. suppose it allows for alot more adjustment.

great site this alot of info and knowledgeable people might try and get an air compressor going with the know how.
