Transit van 2014 dead radio

A friend has a 2014 transit van and the radio is completely dead, as usual it the "can you have a quick look" question!!! before I start digging around any one got any pointers? is it common for the units to completely fail?
I really cant see its going to be something as simple as a fuse, on that note does anyone know where the fuses are located?
Any pointers gratefully received

It doesnt seem to be a code thing it just stopped working including the separate display, the odd thing is though if you get a traffic report it still announces itself over the speakers even though nothing else works!

If a car stereo is dead, I don't look too far, I just change it for a new one, it's done ten years, I'm surprised the transits not dead.

I thought that but Ebay etc have conversion kits that include all the hardware and a new dash panel, the one in my Skoda and Transit look factory and a bargain at around £100
