Transit inner wheel arch

Hello. Looking for advice on MIG welding this rear inner wheel arch. Total amateur. Was going to cut out a part above and below and weld new steel around it from inside. Any help or advice appreciated.

Take a look at Fitzee's Fabrication on YouTube. That should give some good inspiration. Then there is some good info in the links at the top of the forum that will help you to get started with welding. Practice much before you attack the tranny and come back to ask questions if you need more than that. Welcome to the forum, btw.

If that's the condition of the wheel arch, I'd be having a good look underneath, as the steps/sills usually rot out before the wheel arches on transits.

Clean it all back first to see where the good metal is.
They can be much worse than initial inspection. The sealant essentially becomes the structural element
Repair panels are available for the arches.
Last one i done was built up with a number of patches as didn't have the time to wait on panel delivery.
As @m_c says, check around if not already done so, especially the inner sills
