Does anyone know if the transit custom twin cabs have isofix seats in the back?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
That sort of question should be addressed to a Ford dealer for a definitive (and safe ) answer - me thinks.
Yes we have the same base, but it fixes to isofix and has the leg on it which stays in the car and then the seat just clips in. I'm only wondering as that's the seats we have but my eldest will be in a booster soon anyway soon so would only need to buy one if it's not isofix.I found isofix to be a pain and went for the type of base with a bar that goes to the floor when putting a baby seat base in. Never moved or caused any problems

Yes it does according to the manual
Parent's have an isofix seat for my nephew, had a belt restrained type previously, isofix is far more secure and theirs has the front support leg (albeit there are top tether versions also (which seemingly the custom supports)
Dads Saab 9-3 is a pain to install as the fix points are hidden between the back and the base of the rear bench, mums new Fabia is a lot better, slight cut outs to make installing it a lot easier.
Latest advice is to use a booster with a back support

As a side note, I've had a Transit Custom for the last 3 years and will get my new one tomorrow. Best van I've personally had so far and it's not been one bit of trouble.
For comparison, we also have a 15 plate Transporter and one of my customers has a 15 plate Vito and before the Custom we used to have the Renault Trafic.
My comparison to the VW and the Merc is based purely from a comfort and drivability and the extras that you can add for a "reasonable" price. I'm sure that the VW and Merc are "better" built and I know the auto box on the VW is second to none and will have much higher residuals but we only contract hire so that doesn't matter to me.
They are lot of van for the money. You'll have to have a drive of mine when we do that Automation installation, see what you think.
