Hi Guys
Anybody into transformer winding I am after a little advise on one I have that needs repair.
The first winding has burnt, I have managed to get the winding out but I need a little guidance on replacing it.
I was going to just wind the fresh coil on the outside taking the polarity into account obviously. but i was unsure as to the need to replace the space left where the original winding has come from which is 1.25mm thick copper single winding about 140 mm down the centre, around the core spacers, to a tapping then it continues with a smaller winding for about 50mm which is perfect.
This means that the other coils wound around the (removed) first winding, would be unsupported because of the lack of coil in the middle.
Regards Norm
