transformer help required

ive got a traffic light from a member of this site and now finally getting round to wire it up. Bulbs are three 55w 12 v car type headlight bulbs.

What size (amps) 12 v transformer will I need get all three bulbs working at the same time ??

15 amps would be safe, you might be better with a 12v car battery and a battery charger if your not running it at 100% capacity.

1 no 12v 150va transformer and a 60 va transformer screwfix in the lighting section . run 2 off the 150 and 1 of the 60... or just buy 3 no 60va one for eachhttp://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/transformers/cat840844

Do you mean three 55W bulbs per colour or three bulbs total, one bulb for each colour? If the latter, why would you need to light all three at the same time? To follow the correct sequence the most you'd need would be amber and red together briefly, say 10Amps.
I'd be tempted to check out the PSUs in scrap PCs, I know they can bang out 12V at a good few Amps all day long... and they're cheap
