Ask the folk you bought it from if they have it, it may have been removed as security.

Now also think, what is the internal dimensions of that box section. Could you, take a meter of say 50x50. Build it up a bit to suit, then slot it down the middle with a hitch on the end. Couple of bolts through!

Not really as mu old 500kg boat trailer and boat had 1.5t rated tyres

Yeah loads of breaked ones that’ll fit the 3x4 but I don’t have breaks and doubt they’ll be retro fittable

Er you just proved my point.....
No plate they use tyre load index as the max weight it can carry.

If your 500kg trailer had no plate & was stopped they would use the tyre load index of 1.5 / 3t.

Its not in the regs but you would hope common sense would also get them to use the un braked hitch as a limit.

This is re O2 trailers (braked up to 3500kg) but would assume they would do the same for un braked too with a 750kg limit.

As this trailer is not going on the road it should not be an issue.
However if the camp site / boat launch is a public space ie not gated off & members only then the RTA could apply.

Responding to your mail of 21 October to DVSA Enquiries on the above subject.

I can confirm the sum of the tyre capacities with an upper limit of 3500 kg is used as a rule of thumb by DVSA enforcement staff for establishing the GVW of an O2 overrun braked trailer which does not have a manufacturer's plate ( They are not legally required to have one regardless of age)

DVSA do not publish this anywhere. I doubt if it is on the internet.

I doubt it’ll be a issue where it’s at as it’s been used there since new

Nothings an issue until someone gets hurt.

Local camp site has been allowing self launchers to use al sorts of vehicles, any one to drive them, even drunk & have people in the boats.

Been like that for years.

Not any more as they have had some serious injuries & got reamed a new orifice by H&S / police.

To put it into better words it’s not a proper camp site as you would know them if you get what I mean
