As to LED bulbs, they may offer some improvement over regular bulbs but quite often the issues tend to be poor/weak/corroded connections to the bulbs.
So I try to use LED light units wherever possible, fit and forget about blown bulbs and rusty connections. Maypole stuff works, some cheap stuff doesn't.

Something to bear in mind though with LED's is that you should add a ballast resistor for the indicators, otherwise the vehicle won't know they are connected and you don't get the beep/warning signal to remind you that there's a trailer attached.

that’s correct, each horizontal set of terminals are common to each other.

they are ideal for your intended use and make future maintenance really easy.

They're great, IF water doesn't get it.
Unfortunately over time it sometimes does, and things end up very bad.

Cheers gents. Sound ideal for me. Fortunately for me it'll live inside the rear of the motorhome - if it gets enough water in it to be a problem, things have already gone very very wrong!
