Just out of interest how come it used to be so popular to fit small mini and Metro wheels to trailers?

Morris Minor wheels were the same PCD as the Mini, ( 4" ) if my memory hasn't let me down,

Last time I looked (a few years ago, sure it wasn't that long) there were loads, but just had a quick look and nothing's coming up...

I know they're around, I even have one 13" with 4x4" but someone stuck it on a 4x100 and mushed the holes a bit.

If you're really interested I can make a couple of calls though?

we're ok for now, replaced them two years ago, but when these are going will definitely be looking to change to 13" or bigger just to get a better selection of tyres. You can get 13's all day long off the shelf, as it's a far more frequently used size.

the problem isn't getting a 10" rim to fit the hub, it's more getting a 13" rim to fit the same hub, PCD of 4 x 4",

Hi, You need Viva wheels then, although they are not exactly thick on the ground now. A better bet might be to get some weller eight spokes off Ebay and have them double drilled. You might even strike lucky and find some the right PCD.

Minor wheels were 14", A35 & Spridget wheels were the same PCD as the Minor ones, but 13" it used to be a standard mod on Minors, fit wider 13" in place of the 14's, the rolling radius worked out about the same

the only prob with some trailer hubs and mini wheels etc is you sometimes have to put a little cut out for the grease nipple in the centre hole

On my trailer I use 13" but 8pr 195 50 13 same roll rad as mini but will stand 90 psi and around a ton per tyre. but trailer deck is about 7-8" off the road.

ISTR from the dim and distant past that Viva and Imp wheels fit.

Not sure about Imp wheels, but HB Viva wheels definitely fit a Mini hub.

Imp (12), Minor (14), Spridget (13) and Mini(10) are all 4 x 4inch PCD. Vauxhall Viva and Jensen Healey also 4 x 4inch but larger diameter studs. Rostyles may have clearance problems against the grease cap but can be fitted if you get busy with Mr Grinderette.

Thanks guys got lots of info from this thread,I've decided I'm going to fit new suspension units. (needed changing really) I'm going for 4x100 because I have a two 13" old corsa wheels and a set of 14" steel wheels off and astra lying around. So the 4x100 should suit me down to the ground.
