Sorry to say it but I don't think the tracking is genuine.
17Track is a legitimate site but it doesn't actually ship any parcels itself. It just shows tracking from other carriers.
Unfortunately it's integration is not confirmed or secure so any scam sellers can set up a fake interface to 17Track.
They then create false tracking events and the 17Track site just passes those onto you.
If it was a genuine shipment the tracking on 17track would show the actual carrier and then you would be able to confirm on that carriers website.
The scam works either,
because buyers keep waiting (for an item that will never arrive) until they are too late to raise a payment dispute
Or, if a charge-back is raised the seller provides this 'tracking' that shows the item is either waiting to be collected or waiting to have customs fees paid (both of which should stop most charge-backs).
Although the fact that the website selling this stuff has vanished would be enough to make me think a trip to the post office would just be a waste of time...
If you are not in the uk I would find a consumer action forum in your country or the equivalent of the uk's citizens advice bureau.
They may well be able to suggest ways to get the money back or, at least, ways to correctly report this seller as a scammer.
Probably also worth contacting your bank and reporting this scam. Again, you might not get the funds back but they can flag up the recipient account as problematic.
You mean there has been a false tracking update "delivered successfully" ?
Does the tracking service provide photos or GPS coordinates to authenticate the delivery?
