Touch up powder coating

One of my alloy wheels was recently re-powder coated and I have since caught it on a kerb. The damage to the coating is the size of a 20p piece.

I have a powder coating gun I use for small parts that I then cure in a halogen oven. Rubber will not stand the required curing temperature. So I plan to let the air out of the tyre. Push the tyre back from the rim. Protect it with something. Apply powder with my gun. Heat it with a paint stripping hot air gun.

I would welcome comments about the feasibility of my plan.

Sorry but your wasting your time ! Yes you will melt the powder BUT it will NOT stick to the wheel for long ! & you wont get your wheel up to curing temp ! Plus the hot air gun will probs blow the powder off !

yeah you'll only end up disappointed, but it can get an aerosol of paint that matches, you can try and spray it with an airbrush so it blends in
