total newby welder

Hi all,I renovate barns, houses, etc for a living and come across tons of nice metal things, often thinking ' if I could weld that, it'd make a nice table', or 'my metal garage doors would be more secure if I could weld some plate steel across', etc.

So, ive finally bought a Clarke 151en as a starting point and awaiting delivery. Is that good welder to begin with?

Yes, they are good welders; a forum favorite.

Hi,

yes, I've had a similar model (150TE) for three or four years and it does everything that I need.

Can you weld? There are great tutorials on the forum. Have a go and post pictures you'll get plenty of advice on what to do to improve your work.
