Is there a guru that can help. I did a Tosh laptop course about 35 years ago, but I can't ever recall seeing anything like this.
I came by an old L300 which still works, but the CMOS battery needed replacing. The part duly arrived this afternoon and I've fitted it. On coming to reassembly, there's an unidentified rubber piece which I didn't notice on disassembly and which has got me stumped. I didn't fully remove the MB, just the screws and those cables necessary to pivot the MB so that I could get at the underside. The piece was laying near to the battery connector, but I can't see that it has any relevance to it.
Made of soft rubber, about 15mm square.
Where does it go? My OCD won't let me reassemble until I can put it in its correct place
