Torque output of a 3 phase motor

I am trying to find out the torque output of a 0.75hp 3phase motor. I have Googled it but comes up with a load of stuff I don't really get the gist of.

It should really be pounds foot and pounds inch.

That's technically correct but I never heard it said that way. I think it just rolls off the tongue easier when you say it 'backwards'.

It does Pete. But they're two different units. We're talking torque; foce x distance. Whereas foot pounds is a unit of work. The same applies to the British Thermal Unit BThU referred to as BTU which is actually a Board of Trade Unit
