Torch repair

Rather than piggy-back this onto my other thread I thought It best to start a new one.

One thing I've spotted on the old miller is that the cable must be damaged where it exits from the bottom of the handle as it gets very hot there and feels a bit weak. I've had a look and it fits to the torch assembly via a sort of knurled cable gland. Would anyone know whether it would be possible to repair it or should I get another torch?
I'm hoping it might be repairable as it's water cooled....£££.
The gas and water lines are also a bit soft in the same area but those are an easy repair as they're just clipped on.

In my experance wozz repairing water cooled torches is always hopless, there OK for a bit then they leak, normally during a crucial weld...

the trouble is I think by the time there faulty the materials in the torch have gone hard, brittle and past there best, a bit like the way I feal today

Hehe, I know, it was wishful thinking really, but it was late and it was an afterthought .
There's not many on here who would have ever seen a water cooled torch, let alone repaired one.

Anyway, pics as requested;

Perished gas and water lines, quite likely due to the heat from the damaged cable by the look of it.

It appears that the threaded part is soldered onto the copper pipe, what I can't tell is how the cable is fitted into the threaded part without stripping back a bit of the insulation, I'm guessing that's soldered too?
The more I look at it, the more I'm thinking it probably isn't feasible to repair it but if anyone has any ideas then I'm all ears (well, eyes )

yep your correct ther soldered under that screw in ferrule, you can hack em, then squash the copper together for a temp fix, but basicaly pal, those short arms of yours, will have to find a way of conecting to your pockets,
