hi all, for my sins I have a sip migmate pro170. been reading about the problems with them. before I change going to try a new liner. where can I buy a new steel liner? thanks andy

And don't apologise for your SIP - with a bit of loving care, they work very well!

As for the liner (and pretty much all your supplies), Steve at Weldequip all day long...

Oh - should also say that it's worth dropping Steve an email rather than just going off the website. He stocks a lot more than may be on there, and also has specific kits.

I bought a steel liner and a torch maintenance kit of him which I couldn't spot on the website. His email address is top/right on that webpage.

Hi guys I also recently acquired a sip 170 pro running gasless wire... It was a snap buy as it came up locally fairly cheap,I already carried out the bracing mod on the wire drive and as time goes on may tinker some more. I will look into a gas bottle but most of my welding is outdoors and with the house on a hilltop there usually isn't much shelter. Early days yet. This is my first mig having made the transition from buzz box to inverter so I could try my hand at scratch tig... Time is my biggest enemy. I will however change to steel liner to see how that improves things

I replaced the plastic liner on mine with a length of net curtain wire, works beautifully
