hi, i am a new member recently prchased a sip topmig 195.the unit came with a speediglass auto helmet and a esab regulator all for au$350.i have experienced the usual wire feed problems and will be fitting seperate transformer for the wire feed and a pwm to control the feed speed. i will also be changing the motor on the wire feed for a car wiper unit, if this works out i will post some pictures.
thanks for a very helpful forum hopefully with these mods the sip will be a reasonable welder.
one thing i learned when stripping the gearbox was that the housing being plastic has warped which was causing a tight spot on the rotation slowing the wire speed enough to create a problem.
