We have a thread for links to rock stars so there should be one for movie stars as well.

I spent a year in the US as an exchange student and went to Brookfield High School in CT. One of the students there was Kari Wuhrer (has the lead role in "Eight Legged Freaks"). I asked her out on a date but she couldn't go as she was in a play - bummer!

One of my classmates and good friends there was Bill Westenhofer. He won his second Oscar this year for VFX in "Life of Pi". He also has two Bafta's.

Mate near here got a Bafta for editing LA Confidential, but not an actor ( he should have got the Oscar, except it was Titanic's year). So, for tenuous, I shared a lift with Hermione Badderly in NY back in '77.
Where I used to live, quite a few actors had houses, so bumped into them at social does. Nigel Patrick, Clive Dunn, the odd python. Eric Morecome. Depends on your definition of actor.

Sean Bean was filming in The Forest of Dean.
He went awol from the set and was found welding in a small workshop in the forest, next to where my pal used to work.
Turned out he has done a bit of welding in the past and wanted a break from film nonsense.
Very tenuous.

One of my clients (runs a test/ inspection company in Pudsey)... his daughter was best mates with one of the Spice Girls... errrr... I forget which one. Probably t'one wi'Yorshire accent like

My Uncle John was best friends (in the 40s/50s) with a certain Peter Seamus O'Toole. My Grandma lived two doors away from him.

He's more known for his tv than his films, but he has done some films, I have received a personalised card from Stephen Fry many years ago via my sister.

She was at Dundee university when he was the rector and she got chatting with him many a time on university get togethers around the time I was applying to university.

I used to do a bit of work in a s**thole I worked in, for the brother of Gabriel Byrne, I went shooting deer on his place too. One night coming out of a welding course I seen Colin Farrell shooting a scene for some film, I don't know which one. The place was swarming with police, it was beside some very dodgy flats in Dublin's inner city.

When my appendix exploded a couple of years ago, I ended up in St James Hospital, Leeds, Lincoln Wing.

I flew a 757 to Salzburg a few years ago, had a night on the tiles and then flew some passengers to Seville the following morning. All a bit 'Hush-hush' until they arrived.



Nice chap. came into the flightdeck before departure to have a chat about his recent purchase, a P51 Mustang!

I'm not in the photo but I do still have his salt and pepper shakers as a souvenir. Sad, I know.

I did also sit in the seat that was still warm after Cameron Diaz got out of it.

By the way, I'd estimate that Tom Cruise is about 3 foot 6 inches tall in his Cuban heels. I think everyone else in that pic is kneeling down.

I used to live over the road from the bloke that does all the digger stunts in the James Bond films. His day job is on the Caterpillar demo team.
