Tool finds

One of the things I enjoy most about attending auto jumble and steam rally type events is having a good rummage through the second hand tools hoping to uncover a few hidden gems - particularly ones that appear handmade, over engineered, top quality, or any combination of those three.

Here are a couple I picked up the Cumbria Steam gathering, held last weekend.

Screw action circlip pliers, suitable for both internal and external applications.

I was on the lookout for a replacement angle grinder spanner so this is a very useful find. Adjustable and heavy duty with arms 7" long and 1/4" thick. Replaceable pins are turned down socket head cap screws.

Any other unusual finds to share?

no ..you just open it to fit any grinder 2 hole disc flange bolt...not spring loaded or nothing. i have one and its the most usefull tool i have for changing grinder blades,any model,any type.

I don't do jumble sale but I work in the forests of Scotland. A lot of the machines are serviced and repaired on the side of the forest roads. With the machines travelling on the roads, the roads turn to mush. If they drop a tool it can fall into many inches of mud, some of the guys don't bother looking for it. I go for look after the machines have gone and the road has dried up. The tools I've found is amazing, hammers, various spanners, screw drivers, sockets, extension bars and a full makita socket set in its plastic case.
