Evening all , I know I am asking to be shot down for this , but ,..

I currently own a Stack-on tool chest and top box , had it for 15 years now and it has served me well , and even though it is a cheapy £200 , I can not fault it . But I am now looking to upgrade it as I am now outgrowing it , especially with my new workshop in the making .

I have been looking at the long stainless US Pro Tools chest . I know it is not Snap on or Teng but it is not going to get daily heavy use as in commercial . My question is , does anyone have one or similar by US Pro .

I know you get nothing for free and when something is cheap , it is generaly Carp , but they cant be too bad , Can they ?

I dont have the budget for anything extravigant , hence looing at these .

People seem to rate Halfords and they are sometimes "on special"

I can't fault the Halfords pro range. I have. Big cabinet set up and a couple of small ones.

Its fine really, get what you pay for, ive got a loaded up topbox on it and tbh its a bit unstable but really I shouldn't have a box on it.

The halfords advanced/pro stuff is pretty good, its made by gearwrench.

Another vote for Halfrauds Pro range boxes, I got mine when an offer was on including an excellent pro range socket set, very well made and very heavy,if you do buy i found it best to pick up from the store direct, first ones delivered by courier were damaged beyond belief

I've had a halfords top box and roll cab for many years, stuffed full and always been stable and solid, and the ball bearing drawers are great.

Last year I got a middle box as well, immediately filled it with tools, now I need more storage......

US Pro and Halfords tool chests both made in China as are most Snap on ones now. I have Halfords which seems pretty good, but have had a close look at US Pro which seems slightly heavier duty, and is probably what I would go for if buying new in future (my Halfords ones were used and not much money).

I'd also be interested in how good the us pro ones are as they come in bigger sizes than the halfords ones.
Snap on tool boxes are made in the usa or cheaper ones in canada.

A customer of mine has some of the large size US Pro stainless boxes, and I would say they would pass for Snap-On with some badge engineering.

I Have some Snap on boxes & tools bought a long time ago they are OK, as some say the warranty is variable a dead blow hammer handle went like cheese was told we don't warranty hammers, it was still SO price though, but that's OK because I will not buy Snap On any more, plenty of good tools out there
A friend bought these about 12 months ago nothing has broken fallen of draws slide OK the quality is good the price is better

I bought a Halfords Pro 6-8 drawer tool cabinet today. I get 10% off, so made it a bit less expensive.

Nicely made, suprisingly heavy. Just need to watch the drawers, nothing to stop you opening them all together and tipping the box over.

We'll see how it performs - only for home, so won't get too badly beaten.

I got the halfords pro 5 drawer set with top box and no complaints from me. They usually come up on offer so don't pay top whack for them.

Check out the Costco stuff, I think it's on their website if you can't get store access. Looks good value to me.

I saw one big 3 drawer tool cabinet on castors in a skip behind quick fit a couple of weeks ago, I was only on my bike though, that didn't stay there long.
