to Tig or not to Tig

Firstly hello, I am afraid I am a newbie and I am about to ask what is probably a bone question, so sorry in advance!

As I say I am new to welding and fabing and want to develop my skills to enable me to work on my car and bike projects. Ultimately to allow me to fab hardtail bobber and classic chassis frames.

I understand the difference between the various types of welding application and appreciate that most start out on MIG. If I go MIG then I will of course gi for a gas system.

However, I wonder if I would be better off starting and investing my time into learning the art of TIG welding?

Any opinions greatfully received.

For bike frame work tig is ideal. For car body (unless your doing very high end stuff) TIG is to slow so mig is best (plus as it's faster less heat therefore less distortion)

R tech do some very good multi process machines. Just Google r tech.

TIG for the bike frames-decent mig for other stuff, however, on bike (motorcycle) frames /chassis I would caution against fabricating those and use a frame from custom chrome/zodiac/W&W etc.Having said that you can of course hardtail an existing frame which will have a frame number and registration in place.
If you are going to fab up frames I would get an existing frame and use it to weld up a jig-you would need stick or mig for that (welding up the jig I mean) but most tig units have MMA(stick) capability.
