To glue or not to glue? (Conduit 40mm).

Evening folks another question.

Running my 4g10 power supply under a concrete floor. Earth will be in the shed/workshop/barn thing.

Bought 15 meters of red 40 mm conduit and some joiners for the other bits I've got. To make 40 odd meters.

Does one glue it with pvc pipe glue? Or not?

Probably a stupid question, but you should know me by now?

After the concrete floor it'll be in a trench in the garden. It's one continuous run of cable, no joins...

Just the conduit, with joints.

Does it make any difference?

you can just use slip joints and if it gets damp it wont harm the cable unless its been chaffed .just buy a tin of solvent weld cement and join them with that for the little bit of extra cost

Hi Barking,
I never actually glue the joins, fwiw.
In situations where the gaine could be stressed, or moved, I tape them
up with duc(t(k)) tape, just to give some re-enforcment.

Thanks @brightspark and @Other Daniel , just thought it worth asking.

I think I'll glue them any way, and duct tape it, just for the belt and braces approach,

It's second hand 4g10, but looks in really good nick.

No scrapes or chaffing...

It was cheap, compared to new...

Just never joined conduit before, so thought worth asking...
