To buy or not? Schweißgerät Inverter

Hi Guys

Finally ready to spend some cash on a TIG welder, I was convinced I wanted the R-Tech 200 Amp unit, but just spotted one of these for half the price from Germany:

Can't find any reviews for them, anyone heard of them please?

just another rebadged chinese machine, r tech have full uk support and warranty, buy cheap buy twice.
i personaly would opt for the r tech, if it sounds to good to be true and all that.....

There are literally thousands of these about on eBay under different names in different colours and I'm sure they serve a purpose but will be very poorly built. I have noticed that amongst the messy layout on the panel there is no control for AC frequency just pulse. Personally I could not live without that adjustment as I use mine from anywhere between 40-100Hz, this will be fixed at around 60hz which is not too helpful for thinner gage fillets. Yes it's half the price of the Rtech but it's less than half the machine.

Schweißgerät just means "welding machine" in german.. generic as hell
either get a decent quality chinese (i believe r tech are chinese/ chinese & european mix) build that have a little bit of a rapport with the users & pay a bit more or you get a naff quality chinese build and pay exactly what its worth.. barely anything.

That looks like a wse 200 or similar.

The giveaway is always the cheap looking components on the controls, and the Chinese style font on the writing on it.

I think the trick is to understand fully what your buying. A lot of people buy cheap thinking they have sprung the bargain of the century. A lot of people avoid it altogether. Don't avoid them just don't be mislead by them.
Understand what they are and then decide if they will do your purpose.
