Tips suitable for euro torch

Hi,

wonder if you could help me with a newbie question - I am looking at a welder tomorrow with a view to buy.

It has a euro torch and the seller has said it needs a new tip. The wire he has is 0.8 so im going to take along a new tip so I can see it working...now the question -

Do euro torch's use special tips or can I pickup a pack for £5 from halfords and they would work ok? I would usualy buy the specific ones required so i know i have it for sure but having to view today makes it kinda impossible to get them in time.

As you have prob gathered I am a novice and this will be my first welder.

You'll probably need an M6 tip (although 500A torches use an M8). I'll bet the Halfords tips have an M5 fitting.

Halfords don't sell tips which fit euro torches, the blister packs they sell will only fit hobby type torches and do indeed have an M5 thread.
Welding supplier or even (clears throat and spits ) machine mart should stock them.
