Tin toy?

Anyone know anything about them?
Did a loft clearance yesterday was told have anything i wanted,this was about the only thing worth having TBH rest was pure junk.
So,any idea if its a reproduction thing,actually been hand made,some sort of date to put on it,where it might have been made,anyone seen it before,only markings on it is that 2206 on the bottom of the car
Google and fleabay haven't come with one alike
So loads of ????????????????????????????????????

No idea, done loads of antique fairs over my many years and not seen one..I like it a lot, could be worth a few quid.

There is a small chance it's an early hobbyist home made diorama, which still means it could be worth a few quid.

Looking under the car,call it the right axle,would you say thats a spot weld? Theres a few more on the car dotted around front wheel arches have small hammer marks

Yes I thought it was a spot weld too.

It could of course be one of these tin toy replicas the Chinese/Indian back street sweat shops are doing that you see on the market..they do look authentic....but it looks too authentic to me.

Best clue lies with where you got it and it's context with the other stuff in the loft. Why a clearance? Death in family or just newly moved in - who's loft etc etc. That's your best source for provenance.

The sign writing looks pretty 'home made'. Does that flex/cable(?) look genuinely old?

I'd say the house was built around the 60's,its up for a refurb ,why it was empty i didnt question(but i'll have to now,lol),guys removed the old furniture but didnt do the loft as no ladder,what else was up there really wasn't worth looking at just cleared it and now its dumped

I'll try and do some closeup photos if i can,the sign is hand done as you can see brush marks,the flex is solid wire by the feel of it

From what i gather searching the interweb yes theres a lot of Chinese stuff out there,but,the 1st tin toys were made in Germany back as far the 1850's but i cant see it being that early.
Then quite a few made in the USA and Japan.

That looks like it was a labour of love by somebody. If you could figure out what thread the nuts are ...metric, imperial (fuel gauge, etc), it might give you an idea of the age
