I can't keep collecting sadly because I am running out of room so some of these past projects and restorations are now going on eBay. This is not an advert, you guys are not my target audience, just that since I have a few pics, I thought you'd like to see them.

I will be shooting for the moon in terms of prices, you really don't want to know and if you ask, I suspect this thread will get dumped into classifieds. I love the look of this stuff which is why I buy it and restore it or at least rescue it!

Mint, absolutely mint condition Record 84M.

Breaks my heart to let this beauty go but if it lived in my shed, I would kill it in no time. You will never see one of this vintage in this condition outside of a museum.

Lovely "little" power jack hydraulic pump. Incredibly light, the body is all cast aluminium!

No idea what the precise power output is but I'm guessing lots!

Bigger than it looks, its a six inch tilt swivel machine vice made by Bison.

600x400 set square.

Looks amazing when tilted up to vertical. Unusual for a vice of this type to actually tilt to 90 degrees, which was a surprise. I thought they all would :dunno:

I am hoping to pick up a Bridgeport but this thing would be on the large side even for that.

Hey ho. It will make room for more stuff and hopefully, fill my pockets instead.

...and I have had to leave a fair bit in the van. Still, only two or three bikes in the house.

The problem I have is letting it go. But having recognised that, I think I may be on the mend.

Oh and yes, as a former technical consultant, I also have a TON of security!

Those are the main four yes. There are two more storage areas for big iron and gardening!

I need to squeeze a foundry/blacksmithing section in somewhere too. I'm doing that now outside the MotoGP Shed. I always seem to get distracted though. Like in this thread from another site:

Next on the list is a spot outside for forging, heat treating and hopefully smelting. I want to progress towards at least producing aluminium ingots/machine stock. Maybe even brass. In the longer term, casting.

So a little corner of the existing shed there's a strange sunken bath. I don't know what it was used for but I wouldn't be surprised to find the odd scrap of tooth down there iyswim :wtf:

It's kinda spooky down there and it doesn't hold water...

My first job is to dig out the offending roots. There was a huge tree out there only yesterday which towered over the remaining part (which has a birds nest in it so is going to stay where it is). So I grab my grubbing mattock and er...

Well that won't do at all!

It has become increasingly difficult to actually DO anything. There's a great big shaper on the main workbench and half a milling machine on the other.

I ran into my eBay limit almost immediately and just got off the phone. The lady asked me to actually post a couple of ads and while I was on the phone, put up my limit by about 500%

Maybe it was because I said I had already begun to list some other bits on Shpock...

I love the pipe jaws on that big vice but I expect my bench would collapse under the weight of the vice.

When it is upright with the jaws open it does look very technical and architectural. Like something you'd find on the Death Star.

There is also (for me) a strange attraction to heavy objects. They seem to exude a reassuring permanence and timelessness I don't get from looking in a mirror...

Those sheds do have space for these items you're forcing yourself to dispose of, I can see plenty of wall space in the first picture that would accommodate everything.
