i need to make up some panels for the shed , 2x2" timber frame like most , should i attempt to make any sort of joint at the joins , or use a nailing plate on the corners ? or just steam a couple of screws into it
...mortice and tenon...
You must be paid hourlyReally depends how strong you want it, mortice and tennon, glued and wedged or sheeted in osb or just smash a few annular ring nails into the end grain like cheapo sheds.
My preference for easy if I'm screwing into end grain is to use a single 6mm screw about 120mm long and a clearance hole in the end grain so the screw bites deeper, away from the surface so it's less likely to split.
Never used nailing plates so can't comment on that.
