I designed our deck on paper to be 13 boards deep (120mm wide boards) with a 5mm gap between each board and 5mm gaps between the fascia and the first and last boards.
The boards have been on a pallet outside for nearly 2 weeks now in the rain and drizzle.
With the framework complete I loosely laid the boards on top to find that I can only manage to allow a 2mm gap between each board due to them swelling.
The online guides recommend laying the boards when they're dry but 1) This is Scotland 2) It's March and 3) I really want to get this job finished.
Question: Can I lay them as they are with a smaller gap? I'm hoping that they've reaching maximum swellness(?)
