Hi folks, I need to weld a nipple for a coolant temp sensor into a piece of thin wall aluminium pipe. The pipe wall thickness is 1.5mm and I dont know what flavour it is, and the nipple about 5mm wall thickness and is 6082 T6 flavour. I have a couple of pics below to illustrate what Im after.
What settings and rods/tungsten would I be looking to use to do this job? I'm not very experienced with alloy welding hence the questions. Also would it be an idea to leave the sensor in while welding or should I remove it?
