Tightwads convention tomorrow Near York

Thought I'd bump this. Went to Rufforth today and thought it was pretty good. More stalls than I remember from last time. Didn't buy much as I wasn't needing in anything in particular. Bought a long plastic aerosol holder for £3, a 100 box nitrile gloves at £1, and a cheap paintbrush. Quite a few old motorbikes for sale which I enjoyed looking at. Wish I'd taken photos. I remembered they start packing up pretty early so got there a bit after after 10 and they were starting to pack up by the time we were going.

Only £2 entry. It's out of the way for us, and most people, but a nice bonus stop if you're going/coming back from that part of the country. Lots of Geordie bikers looked to be having a ride down, though the weather was a bit overcast.

was there today get there at 6am, got a drum of genuine creosote 25 quid. a dozen pair of work gloves 6 quid. 200 wago blocks a tenner and a few other bits and pieces . was well worth going

Quite a few places doing the work gloves...absolute bargains compared to high street stores. I did think there was more variety - stalls selling garden fertiliser, decorating gear, more motorbike stuff, than previously - and fewer of the cheap kids toy stalls inside.

We went to Llandudno transport festival, it's £9 to get in! Jumble was poor compared to other years but thats just because we didn't see anything we needed.
But a great day out, good weather too
The Chap you bought the can holder from did he have loads of spray cans? if so we buy all our stuff from him as he is such good value, The Little Scottish chap inside opposite the massive tool and fastening stall, he is great as he wells small packs of stuff.
Recently I needed one Lucar connector and had to buy a bag of 100 at great expense so I now have a stock of assorted one from him.
Rufforth really you need to be there around 7 by 10 we are half way home

Lol. Some of it is a bit random, isn't it? Yes, I think it was the same guy. I resisted buying more cans for 'just in case' because the garage is rammed at the minute already. I thought there were more nuts and bolts, electrical fittings, and trim bits, than last time but unfortunately I hadn't thought to make a list of sizes or stuff I might need. Will do that next time.

I tell you what's lovely about Rufforth. It's full of old blokes enjoying themselves. Some are there on their own, others with mates or sons or brothers, a few in couples, and they are all clearly loving it. They're chuffed with a bargain or chatting about some obscure bike part with a stallholder, or just enjoying looking. If every man over 30 could go to a massive autojumble once a month it would do wonders for that cohorts mental health.
