I snapped the stud on the lexus by overtightening the wheel nut.


Easy enough to fix -
remove wheel.
Remove caliper
Remove disk (held on by wheel nuts)
Tap out the stud (there's a gap in the back plate to make it easy)
Put new stud in, put wheel nut on, and tighten to pull stud into splined hole.
Replace everything, tighten wheel nuts and snap same stud!





£5.14 for a new stud! (Still cheaper than a bolt from been n queued).
I asked at the service desk what torque should be on a wheel nut:
110Nm
That's 22kg on the end of my 18" breaker bar.
