Tightening up Ear Hose Clamps ?

I want to tighten up the hose tail in to my TIG gas tube. I have a few little single ear hose clamps (Kindly supplied gratis by Steve from Weldequip) Alas though I cant find my proper Ear Hose Clamp Tool. So whats the best way to do it without munging it up ?

End nips other wise known as steel fixers nips, or end pliers. Weird as it is The pound type shops and regional woolworth types sell them, in the tool section of coarse.

I bough a pair a few yrs ago for less then a fiver, and they are still going strong

I also used end nips before treating myself to the 'proper' tool, I prefer double eared clamps personally.
