Tight angles

I notice that when welding the lowcost chassis there are some quite tight angles, there is noway that the shroud would get any nearer than 20mm (I think).

What's the welding procedure?

Or use a shortened nozzle and have a lot of tip stick-out. Make sure you get decent gas coverage.

I cut a shroud down so the tip stuck out about 5mm and also squash the shroud a bit flat so it goes in and touches the sides of the tubing.

If the metal's thick enough (eg 3mm), then MMA is often the best solution for welding in areas with tight access. If there's a 3mm gap, you can poke a 2.5mm electrode in - maybe bend it slightly so it goes onto the bit you need it to.
