Tig Welding thin aluminium

I noticed that your welder may be the WSE 200P. is this correct?

would you recommend it? and where did you get it from? I can't remember where I got mine from and I know they did a good range of welders.

I am getting really unstuck with my current one which is proving to be rather depressing.

1mm ally is fairly tough to begin with.everything has to be right
have you tried some on a different machine to be certain you have the technique right?
ac frequency and pulse arent really essential to have,they wont make a huge difference

Rebekah, can you post a photo of your machine please? When I Googled the WSE 200 the WSE 200P also came up and the WSE 200 photo I looked at showed a minimum current of 20A on the control and no digital readout. If your pedal does the same as mine and adds 20A to the machine basic current unplugging the pedal might give you less amps.

its a wsme200. if its melting through try a tiny bit more cleaning on the +/- balance, that will reduce the heat. or use pulse mode if your set has it.

well it's been a while but thought I'd write to say SUCCESS. the change in welder was the way to go and am welding like a semi-pro. thin stuff is fine now. all I need to do is to clean up the welding and it will be great.
