tig welding courses

does anybody know of any part-time tig welding courses in the north-east

must be out of work hours though

I'd have thought colleges in Newcastle or Durham would do them. I did a random welding, lathing, bricklaying and roofing course at a technical college in Durham which was very useful. They seem to be geared up for teaching welding.

Ah Consett..... sorry to hear they have stopped it, that was where I learned my skills as an apprentice in the 60's... You from around that area then M8...?

I can really recommend trying to teach yourself the skills of tig welding.
OK, you need a tig set and a bit of time, but it is very doable. There is lots of educational material on the Miller website and if you're stuck the guys on the forum can help you out.

I picked up the Consett (Derwentside College) part time course booklet the other day. Welding was still on the list. I did the C&G 3267 course there a couple of years ago and they were really helpful.
