Hello
I'm new,
I'm not directly a welder I do some tig welding but i'm more active in the sector of tool design/ prototype building.
For my last design i'm planning to use tungsten rods with a diameter of 4,8mm i found out it's much cheaper to buy rods which are to be used for welding then to buy special tungsten for for mechanical use.
Now to the point i bought a rod of 4,8mm measured it and it seemed to be 4,71mm not directly a problem the only thing is now, if i buy them some where else and they are bigger or smaller in size i have a huge problem. I'm not in the mood to change my bearings every time.
So now my question is if you have tungsten rods of 4,8mm do you know what the exact diameter is? The type of rod doesn't really matter normally i'm use the green ones (pure tungsten)
I would be very grateful
