Tig & Mig welding C&G level 3

Looking at undertaking the above certificates in level 3, I know you have to know how to crawl before you can learn how to walk. Presently undertaking an introductory course in both but won't to go all the way if possible and if funds allow,what does a level 3 involve? Different welding positions on the test? Test of penetration of the welds how to read technical diagrams? Is this all covered in level 3? It sounds quite intensive and was wondering if I had to do level 3 at all and could someone possibly employ me at level 2 providing my welding was sufficient?

Sorry I can't tell you about level 3 but I am currently doing a level 2 in mig and arc and have just completed the mig section. We had a lesson of theory where we learned the parts of the welder, about dip and spray transfer, weld prep, a bit about drawings and symbols then you have to complete 5 test pieces and pass. They set the material thickness, type of joint, position, welder settings etc. You do a lap joint, pipe to plate, T fillet, butt horizontal and butt vertical. Once you have produced a satisfactory test piece for each they test it to destruction and if your welds don't fail you pass. To be honest it's not easy and not every one on the course have passed so far. I can only imagine a level 3 will be more intense than a level 2 and probably with more theory.
