TIG footpedals

My old Hitachi GP2 has a Linemaster footpedal made in USA, and I wondered whether or not they were still in business.

Seems that they are, and even still seem to make the footpedal thats on the Hitachi: https://www.linemaster.com/Defaultindustrial.aspx

Looks like they can provide wireless controls as well as wired, which might be very useful for some applications?

I have a wireless Miller and would never go back to a wired pedal, Chevy2 has the same and he wouldn't go back either, yes they are expensive but really great to use.

Yes they do...............for Miller and Lincoln. Probably a lot less money than OE, but wonder if they can be adapted to work on other machines maybe?

Don't know about the Lincoln but the miller is 14 pin and they are all used

Pedal is obviously a transmitter, but I wonder if the receiver is a plug in, or an actual part of the machine itself? If its a plug in, then I would guess producing wireless pedals which would work on other machines would create a fair amount of interest?

Building a wireless pedal isn't rocket surgery, should be do-able for any machine. Development costs will probably be a bit high, but it's a simple micro controller, digital potentiometer, rf link Jobby...

I thought it was heavily patented by Miller for the wireless pedal. Ingenious design IMO. All too often ive got that bloody cable rapped around my ankles and getting trapped under the pedal feet. Chev does all his pedal work on the job something ive never been able to do with it between my legs or under my head. That wireless control must be a god send for him. Before that he must of been stringing himself up round the cage bars lol.

Only machine it is tricky for is the esab caddy with it's canbus pedal. The rest, ones with just a contact closure and variable resistor, they are easy.

Wonder why wireless pedals not more common if they are not difficult to do? Would have thought lots of people would be interested, in retro fit wireless?

Can't remember were I heard this.

But I was under the impression that what with HF starts and all the other high frequency stuff surrounding a tig station. The hard part for the foot pedal transmitter and receiver is interference

I've imported a couple of 100 of SSC pedals and never had one come back
