Tig brazing to an old bike tank.

I've got an old bike tank that I'm modifying and need to attach some mounts to it. Someone on here mentioned before that tig brazing would be a better way to do the job, question is what is tig brazing and how do I do it?
I'm new to tig so don't want to blow holes into everything......

Not being a smart arris, but make sure you have filled the tank with water for a while to get rid of the vapours out if it.

I used SIF No8 to modify an Enfield tank to allow a big head to fit. He'd had the tank painted, so I had to be very careful how much heat I got into the joint nearest the (visible) painted side, in the end I managed to only burn 6/8mm off the paint, I don't have a picture of the finished job, but there was no more burn than what you see around the tacks

Ronan I think the last time this tank had fuel in it was in 1975 in the Mojave desert......

Don't believe there are not lingering fumes, have seen a 50s tank catch fire & a 70s tank blow up after 3 washes in hot Carbon-Tet broke mates collar bone
