Tig advice please?

Hi,
I've got a 9mm thick steel sprocket (150mm diameter) to weld to a 30mm diameter shaft. The sprocket is bored to slide over the shaft.
I've haven't welded anything this thick before and was after some advice on tig setup and filler rod/tungsten size please.

I have a 200amp dynasty tig.

is it steel? might be better off arcing it i reckon.
a 3.2mm tungsten should handle the max from your welder though.
not done much of that kind of thing my self though so i can't really say, you might want to tell people what material it is though, for advice on filler and all that.

By 9mm sprocket, i assumme you mean platewheel, ie without a hub, anyway a 2.4 tungsten at about 120 - 130 amps, 1.6mm A18 filler rod, and about 8lpm gas will get the job done,
building a conveyor?.
