Been thinking of a tig welder for a while now and came across this;

obviously been a yorkshireman don't want to spend £££s i know ill need a power supply but ive an stick welder kicking about somewhere.

As long as you have a DC MMA set and you can connect it to the HF box (assuming it works) you will have welding current, HF and gas post-flow at the touch of a button.

I have something similar that I bought off @Screwdriver earlier this year. It's currently with a mate as I haven't had time to mess about with it due to various goings on over the summer. He reports that it's a beast of a bit of kit

Looks like AC or DC from the writing on the panel. Hard to see from the photo. It might be worth ringing the manufacturer Tech Arc for clarification.

Judging by the price on eBay I got it for the bargain sum of £40, 100% duty cycle too at 300 amps with built in water cooler connections to torch

It looks like 50 to 90 v AC maximum 220 amp in and switchable AC or DC out so the the internals must consist of a rectifier and the HF circuit.
Look like a good bit of kit for use with a basic transformer

your lucky you did,
if i had of know it was for sale when i was their buying the tig unit, i would of bought it too.

Sorry if this comes across as a total noob question but these are something I know absolutely nothing about. If I got one of these, and connected it to an Ac/Dc arc welder I have, could I theoretically weld alu if I feed it with Ac?

Sorry me wuz wrong. Had a closer look. Assumption made from having worked for hire co renting out DC Diesel welders and DC TIG boxes.
The only AC sets we had were three phase mains machines. All bar one single phase AC/DC machine.

This one is 50 to 90 Volt AC in Max in 220 amps

get a quote off there site, parcel size/weight and both postcodes.

they even do depot to depot service...


and royal mail.

also carpartcouriers....
