I know you guys are probably sick and tired of this, but hoping you guys can provide some insight.
I’m stuck between the Kemppi master tig 235 ac dc with tft screen and the EWM XQ 230 3.0 expert with screen ( I will be adding a cooler to this), I know it’s a good problem to have but I’ve been wanting to buy a machine to learn on and Covid wasn’t kind so had to put things on hold. Will be used for fabrication on cars mainly and only have a single phase supply.
I have both EWM and Kemppi reps around me in London, Kent or Surrey and this is a hobby so won’t be used in anger ever. I’m just that guy who likes to buy once and keep…I know most will say it’s not the machine it’s the user, but I want to put myself in the best position to learn and succeed (also planning classes with some guys I know).
Ive always leaned towards EWM, as I said above I was close to buying during Covid, but I like the idea of the weld assist in the Kemppi. I’d welcome your thoughts on this, thanks In advance.
Torches
if I go Kemppi I might go with a Kemppi torch (need to look at the options) unless anyone suggests different. But I do like the CK Flexloc, and I’m a sucker for these Tgc tidy connectors, not sure if anyone has done it on a CK torch, as I’m a tidy freak, or if anyone can advise suppliers of these other than parweld.
