Just wanted to publicise the excellent service I just received from Metal-Craft tools.
Having seen Chunko evangelising their products, I was keen to have a go myself. I therefore snapped up the kit that sixtwoeight was selling on here. (http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=38986&referrerid=2061
Having got the kit home, I found the Master RBR tool had seen a little hard service in the past, with the knurled drive wheel being quite worn. The pin on which this rotates was also a bit bent and the threaded hole into which it mounts was a bit skew. I guess someone tried to roll oversize material or did not tighten down the pivot pin at some time in its history.
Anyhow, a few emails and a phone call to Metal-Craft, and I cannot praise their customer service highly enough.
I described how I had bought some used tools, and without pause they have sent operating manuals and parts diagrams for all of the tools. They advised that these tools date from 1994 - 1998 .
I now have a set of parts to bring the RBR back to as new condition, and a couple of bits from the later model to fit on there.
Whilst about it, I got a new punch and die for the shear.
The fact that these guys still stock parts that fit these older machines, and that they instantly sent the instruction manuals for old machines at no cost is worth masses in terms of my loyalty to them.
This kit was bought as a stop gap whilst I gather funds for the XL machine as ably demonstrated by others on here, and to see if I will get some use from this equipment. If I had any doubts before, they are well and truly removed by the level of support and service I received on these old tools.
Now all I have to do is use them to make something beautiful.
