Haven't seen any mention of the project on here. Richard Noble is at it again, this time going for the water speed record. The project is still in it's early stages but they've got a jet engine and are testing models Progress on https://thrustwsh.com/

It seems like a brave thing to do, given that the Thust SSC Car seems to be in deep freeze due to lack of support.
Back around 1995, I was actively involved in raising money for the car when it set new records. However, I wonder if we have now living in an age where the public no longer has a great enthusiasm for record-breaking speed projects? The sort of interest that the Campbells could raise may not be there now, least of all, if the driver is white, male and has a military or a middle-class background Maybe a big, plain-speaking Yorkshire woman from Leeds would do it?

Oddly enough I was watching an interview with him last night, on youtube, where he related that his earliest memories of speed records was seeing John Cobbs water speed rocket boat.

In that second photo , it almost looks like it would go as fast no matter what direction the engine was pointing ,,, either end could be the front .
as long as they dont both try to be the front at the same time , and thats seems to have been the issue in the past.

Bloodhound was the last attempt but died largely due to the ineptitude of those running the project.
