Throwing myself in at the deep end!

Hello all,

New to the forum and to MIG welding. I had a H&S introduction course in May and have just built what amounts to a climbing frame, for a school production - wish I'd found this site earlier but youtube was definitely my friend!

I learned A LOT whilst grinding and MIG welding 40mm steel tube together for 3 weeks straight - mostly that I need to find some smaller gauntlets and my work hoody is not the ideal thing to wear if I ever want to wear it in public again!

im not sure a climbing frame for kids is the ideal first project for someone with little to no welding experience but each to their own

Welding is a really useful skill to get under your belt.
Is it a stage prop or will it get used in the 'field'.

Don't want to sound negative but all sorts of alarm bells started ringing if a bunch of kids are to be climbing on it and my first question would be have you got liability insurance for your work and it's use, I think I know the answer

this was my concern. learning and load bearing dont usually go together, especially as a first project and when the load is a child parents tend to go bat s*it crazy when something breaks and hurts their kid.

in all fairness it does look good especially considering you are appear to have learnt from youtube

There seems to be some bolted brackets, too, but I'm not sure why some angles are bolted up and some aren't.

I'm sure troker will be along shortly to tell us more
