Last year back in early Dec i bought one of these and it was bad, worse than bad, actually rubbish a very bad copy(from over there in the far east) so sent it back to frosts,no way was it worth £170.
So,the other week while one was surfing around this popped up
https://cjautosheywood.co.uk/product/throatless-shear-mw43/
£50 cheaper,so thought, ifs its anything the last one then it reflects the right price
Been using it cutting up patches for a 27yo saab 900 rot box for the last 2 weeks and i have to say i'm happy
Sorry no mug
Now the only real bad thing about this is the paint finish ok its far from good but its far better than the last one, that one you could wipe the paint off with your finger
Oh,and its smothered in packing grease
The cast itself is a little rough hence why the white bit you see is some form of filler with what looks like red oxide base, top coat matt grey stuff but better
Now some cutting examples
Not bad at all, kept quite close to the cut line, yes, you can cut curves
The other one was bad,the blades bind with no adjustments and the action overall was sloppy
It rates up to 3mm steel, but to be honest i think 2mm is its max,its harder to cut a concave curve than a convex one, this is due to how you move the piece(anticlockwise convex clockwise for concave)
Why did i buy one, well IMHO its a lot safer than using a grinder,no goggles to put on,better control on the cuts(esp curves),and dare i say it,much quicker, plus no leccy needed
Again the finish lets it down but for the price,i shouldn't moan.
Once again yes its a bad copy, but its a much better copy than the last one
With that, its now striped apart for a good rub down and a repaint,so,recommend me a good tough tool enamel anyone
