Three phase power usage meter recommendations?

Commercial tenant is playing up over the (agreed previously) electricity usage in my workshop. It is mostly a few hours of lighting with the odd hour of (three phase) compressor or welder use. As a result, I need to be able to assess what I have used on a daily or weekly basis, then reset to zero after I have settled the cost.
I don't have a DIN rail to mount it on, so it would be best in its own housing for wall mounting. I'm not bothered about fancy features but Alexa compatibility might be fun, particularly if I could shut the supply down remotely. It's far from essential though.

Any suggestions at a reasonable price?

buy a meter and fit it is my advice

as its what most do with flats and some commercial propertys

If it is to be used for billing then the meter needs to be MID certified, this probably rules out most options with Alexa etc compatibility.

You can get a standard check meter from most wholesalers, these are the same as standard non-smart electricity meters. Or you can also get private pre-payment meters.

It is for my own use only so that I can shut her up by paying what I use, even though my power was agreed to be part of the rent. No need for any certification.

I bought this one, which arrived damaged. I looked up the supplier and they are in Gloucester, so may well be going in there.

I need some 3pase and Neutral cable to connect it with. Existing SWA is 22mm diameter, so what does that make it, 4mm? Does anyone have a metre or two lying about please? I assume it doesn't need to be SWA out of the meter?

The other issue is how to terminate the existing SWA at the meter input?

Those meters are designed to have insulted and sheathed tails terminated into them, to terminate SWA correctly it needs to be terminated into a suitable enclosure, preferably metal.

The normal way is to mount the meter directly above a piece of metal trunking with an oval slot cut into it to allow all meter connections to pass through the same hole in the steel. The meter should be fitted as close as possible to the trunking so that no basic insulation is visible when the lids are fitted

would something like that work? works with a CT clamp, i know they are single or 2 phase (as in the US split phase thing) but its easy to fit and would give you a pretty good idea

It may have, but it's not a case of 'should have' as far as I know, or have experienced.

Even if it is a requirement for new cables a lot of existing cables don't have this information marked on them.

east enough to gauge the size .measure the core and how many with a caliper probably either 10mm 16 mm or 25 mm ,measure of a bit of known size cable .i can tell by just looking up to 35 mm
