Thread inserts

I need some advice i am currently building a simulator rig and need to be able to bolt the seat frame to the frame im building. Problem is the thinness of the seat runner will not allow me to run a tap through it for the bolt to secure properly and i am not able to weld a nut in there either. Is there some form of fixing that i can use that would give me an m8 thread so i bolt to???

you need some rivet nuts or nutserts, some in use here on a job I built last year

no need to, to fit just 4 you wont even need a tool to fit them, a bolt nut and washer will pull them up

Do be careful using the "bolt up" method though, as they are much easier to spin in the hole than when compressed. And partially compressed loose ones are a nightmare!

This tool will probably do for what you want and is cheap enough.

If there is a short cert with serrations correct size use them we put stud lock on them as well

Punch through to form the wall which can then be tapped. Almost full thickness to tap into.

I saw something on here ages ago abot flow drilling and it has stuck.

Just a thought though, could be utter unmitigated bollinks.

Another solution is to use hank bushes.

The seats in my seven are held in with these.
