Thoughts on this replacement manifold?

The exhaust manifold on my TD5 discovery 2 has warped again. Its broken a number of studs this time.

Any thoughts on this as a replacement?

Would that be less likely to warp? The item in the picture looks relatively well made? Thats not to say the ones they send out are. Is stainless a better material?

I can get mine skimmed but by the time I've done that, bought new gaskets and studs I womt be far off that Ebay price (especially as there's a discount code reducing it to 179£)

Although looking at it more closely the pipes out of cylinders 2 and 4 don't exactly look made to help with gas flow!

Everything I've seen from Toyosports has been of good quality, certainly for what you pay anyway. Fitted plenty of manifolds to late 90's fords back in the day, Fiesta Zetec-S's (Yamaha engine things not the Mk6's) etc and never had any problems with fitment either

Allegedly yes, I've heard of lots of warped manifolds but never suffered from it with my D2 TD5 and I did 100k in that thing

Yes, it's common I have a friend who had 2 failures. I suspect more common when chipped. His last replacement manifold was bought deflanged and ceramic coated as a fix. I never had a problem on mine.

@reb78 I think it's a thing to deweb the Td5 manifolds to allow the casting to flex more / be less rigid to allow the cylinder head to expand.

Fairly sure Neil has done it in his 90 and he's running a fairly high state of tune and doesn't hang about when the 90 does get driven. I'm not aware of him having any issues with it.

mine was warped when I bought it at 145k miles replaced it with a factory part and that warped after 8k miles, replaced that with a stainless one and that warped pretty quickly too

Jeep Cherokee's used to have the same issue. Replacement stainless manifolds had expansion joints.
