I have a Thor hammer that has the leather head missing. It is the 50mm size and I have bought one off the bay (£9.71 delivered). What is the best/only/proper way to fit them as it is larger than the hole. At the price I do not want to damage it if there is a technique or tip to do it. I have a press and think that is the way but will it need lube or what?

Apologies for cutting and pasting this from one of my other forums:
I've been meaning to do this ever since I made those lead filled balls.
Something to do with the scrap lead from the last pour....
...plus some odds and ends that have been kicking about the shed since I started hoarding lead.
I miscalculated the amount required and did a second pour as a top up. Everything which could go wrong, went wrong. A leak through the join meant half of it ended up on the floor. Because I reheated the mould to add some extra lead, the cold plug in the hollow handle leaked like an open pipe (!), then I ran out of gas. But it topped out eventually.
The final pour of molten lead onto the remelted puddle in the body didn't take but I ended up with a hammer.
Great. Will come in really handy. As a doorstop.
That "miscalculation" meant this little hammer weighs more than my biggest sledge. Thor himself would struggle with this one, if you pick hit up by the handle it will break your wrist at the joint.
LOL. Back to the drawing board (and back into the pot for Mjölnir).

Does anyone know what the difference is in the colours of the plastic or nylon faces? i.e. hardness etc.

yellow is hard. orange medium and grey soft in plastic. similar for the nylon ones too. all the info is on their site https://www.thorhammer.com/replacement-faces.html
